Your ArcadePay Controller uses cellular for its connection, so a strong reading at install time means smooth cashless play for your guests from day one.
Where to Find Your Signal Reading
Open your ArcadePay dashboard on your phone and go to Machines. Each controller shows its status and a signal level. Find the device ID that matches the label on the controller you just installed.
What a Healthy Number Looks Like
- 15 or above: this is the target. You are good to go.
- 20 or above: ideal. Nice placement.
Write the number down with your install notes. It gives you a handy baseline for that location.
Antenna Placement Is the Big Win
Metal cabinet walls can weaken a cellular signal a lot, so where the antenna sits matters more than anything else.
- Mount the antenna on the outside of the machine, on the back or side panel. The magnetic base makes it easy to place and move.
- Keep it out of high-traffic front areas and off spots where it can get bumped when the machine is moved.
- Avoid tucking it inside the cabinet or pressing it flat against a metal panel.
Want a Better Number? Try This
- Move the antenna to a different spot on the outside of the back or side panel.
- Power-cycle the controller and give it a few minutes to reconnect.
- Refresh Machines and check the reading again.
