How to Reactivate an ArcadePay Controller Removed from Your Account

Pulled a controller off a seasonal machine, swapped cabinets, or had a unit removed from your ArcadePay account? In many cases you can bring that same ArcadePay Controller back — on the same machine or a different one — without ordering new hardware.

Reactivation is an account-side step. You power the controller so it can check in over cellular, then ArcadePay Support puts it back on your account so it shows up under Machines in the ArcadePay dashboard.

Before You Email Support

  • Have the device ID handy. It is printed on the label on the back of the controller (for example, SP:8845). You can also find active devices in the ArcadePay dashboard under Machines → Settings.
  • Give the controller power and cell signal. Plug it into the machine or any USB / barrel-jack power source. It does not need to be fully wired for credit pulses just to check in.
  • Wait 5–10 minutes. Leave it powered on so it can pull any firmware updates and show as online.

Steps to Reactivate

  1. Power the controller on where it has cellular coverage. A blinking red light and an Online status in the ArcadePay dashboard (once Support reactivates it) are what you want to see.
  2. Email ArcadePay Support at ops@arcadepay.app (or reply on your original order confirmation thread) with:
    • Your name and operator account email
    • The device ID
    • The machine or location you want to put it on
  3. ArcadePay reactivates the device. Once Support confirms it is online and moves it back to your account, it should appear under Machines within a few minutes. Rename it, set play packages, and run a quick test play.

Good to Know

  • No Wi-Fi setup. ArcadePay Controllers use built-in cellular. You do not need to join a store Wi-Fi network to update or reactivate.
  • Same unit, new cabinet is fine. After reactivation you can put the controller on a different machine — wire it, set pricing, and test from the ArcadePay dashboard.
  • Warranty or swap replacements. If this unit was replaced under warranty or a hardware swap, the original may or may not be eligible. Include that context when you email Support so they can confirm.

The Takeaway

Power the controller for a few minutes so it can check in, then email ops@arcadepay.app with your account email, the device ID, and where you want it assigned. ArcadePay Support reactivates it on your account — you finish naming, pricing, and a test play from the ArcadePay dashboard.

If it does not appear under Machines after Support confirms, reply on the same thread with the device ID and we will dig in.
