Changed a Pulse Setting? Run Recalculate Cash So Your Reports Catch Up

Fine-tuning a machine is part of running a good route. Maybe you corrected the cash value per pulse, switched a token machine to the right pulse count, or turned on Ignore in Cash Counting for a test input. Those are smart changes, and there is one quick habit that makes sure your reports reflect them.

When you change a pulse setting, your existing cash totals may not recalculate on their own. The fix takes one click: Recalculate Cash.

Recalculate Cash lives in the same Pulse Settings Advanced Options area you just edited.

What Recalculate Cash Does

Your ArcadePay dashboard counts cash from the pulses your machine sends. When you update how those pulses are read, Recalculate Cash goes back through the machine's pulse log and reprocesses it with your new settings. Your cash totals in Reports update to match.

Cashless sales are not affected. This is only about how physical coin and bill pulses roll up into your cash numbers.

How to Run It

  1. Open your ArcadePay dashboard and go to Machines.
  2. Open the machine you changed.
  3. Open Pulse Settings and expand Advanced Options.
  4. Click Recalculate Cash.
  5. Give it a few minutes, then refresh your dashboard and check Reports → Transactions → Cash.

When to Use It

  • Right after you change any pulse Advanced Options setting on a machine.
  • After you correct the pulse value or pulses-per-dollar for a machine (for example, a token machine versus a quarter machine).
  • After you turn Ignore in Cash Counting on or off for a pulse input.
  • Any time your cash totals look different from what you saw at the machine after a settings change.

Make it part of your settings routine: change, save, recalculate, check Reports. Then the numbers you hand to a location partner or your accountant line up with the work you just did.

The Takeaway

Pulse settings shape how your cash is counted. Whenever you adjust one, open Pulse Settings → Advanced Options and click Recalculate Cash, wait a few minutes, and confirm your totals in Reports. It is a small step that keeps your cash reporting clean and trustworthy.
