Your ArcadePay Controller ships with a Tap-to-Pay NFC kit. Once the stickers are on the cabinet, guests can pay by tapping their phone — no QR scan and no app download.
The install is short. Match the kit numbers, put the NFC chip behind the tap zone, keep it off metal, then test with your own phone before you leave the stop.

What Is in Your Kit
Keep these three pieces together for one machine — do not mix kits across controllers:
- NFC tag — small white sticker with the functional chip
- Outside graphic sticker — the full Tap to Pay / Scan to Pay face
- Inside reverse sticker — for glass-door machines (applied from the inside)
Match the Numbers First
Before you peel anything, confirm the number on the NFC tag matches the graphic sticker and the ArcadePay Controller. They are a matched set. Mixing kits is a common cause of payments opening the wrong machine page.
Find the Tap Zone
On the graphic, the top section labeled TAP YOUR PHONE HERE is the tap zone. The NFC chip must sit directly behind that area. The lower Scan to Pay QR section does not need a chip behind it.
Choose a flat, visible spot near the player controls. Avoid curves and places that get bumped or blocked.
Placement rule: NFC tags must not be applied on metal. Glass is OK.
Apply the Stickers
Method A — Inside reverse (most claw / glass-door machines)
- Apply the inside reverse sticker on the interior of the glass so the graphic faces outward.
- Apply the NFC tag from the outside, centered over the tap zone.
- Press firmly so it stays flat.
Method B — Outside install (no glass door)
- Apply the NFC tag first where the tap zone will sit.
- Apply the graphic sticker on top, aligning TAP YOUR PHONE HERE over the chip.
- Smooth from the center outward to clear air bubbles.
Final Check Before You Leave
- Sticker is straight, secure, readable, and unobstructed
- Both the tap zone and QR code are easy to see
- Test: tap your phone on the tap zone — the ArcadePay payment page should open automatically
If tap does nothing but the QR still works, re-check chip alignment under the tap zone and confirm the surface is not metal.
Already Have Controllers Without the New Stickers?
Updated NFC stickers for existing units are rolling out. We hope to have all updated stickers in by October 1, and email notifications will go out when they are available. No extra hardware is required — it is a sticker upgrade for the controllers you already run.
The Takeaway
Match kit numbers → put the NFC chip behind TAP YOUR PHONE HERE → glass OK, metal no → tap-test with your phone. Guests get a faster pay path, and you still keep QR as a backup on the same sticker.
