Wiring is done. Power is on. Now comes the step that saves you a second trip: confirm the ArcadePay Controller is online and that guests will land on a working payment page before you apply stickers or leave the stop.
This is a quick readiness check — dashboard status, QR or tap open, buy options visible — so the first customer scan is a real checkout, not a blank page.
Pro Tip Before You Leave the Shop
First-time cellular provision takes 10–30 minutes. Power the controller on at home, your shop, or your warehouse and finish this verify step there when you can. After the first connection, later power-ons typically reconnect in about 15 seconds, so on-site work stays focused on wiring and a pulse check.
Lights to know: one blue means powered on; two solid red means still connecting; blinking red means connected.
Step 1 — Confirm Online in the Dashboard
- Open your ArcadePay dashboard.
- Go to Machines.
- Find the controller you just powered on.
- Confirm the status shows Online.
On first boot, give it the full 10–30 minutes if it is still connecting. If you have several controllers, each one appears with its own device ID — rename them to location names once they are online so the list stays easy to read.
Step 2 — Open the Payment Page
Tap the QR code icon next to the machine in the list, or scan the QR on the sticker with your phone. A working page shows your buy options and payment methods (cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and the other wallets your checkout supports).
If buy options appear, the QR is linked and that machine is ready to take payments. If you see a blank page or an error right after install, wait a few minutes for the connection to finish and try again.
Controllers shipping with the current sticker set also include phone NFC tap-to-pay. Guests can scan the QR or hold their phone near the tap zone to open the same payment page. That is a phone tap to open checkout — not a physical card tap on the sticker. NFC tags must not be applied on metal; glass is OK.
Step 3 — Apply Stickers Only After It Works
Once the payment page loads correctly, place the QR / Tap to Pay sticker where guests can reach it near the player controls. Do not stick first and verify later — that is how a location ends up with a code guests scan before the machine is live.
Before install, a QR that says something like “no usable data found” is normal. The code activates after the controller is installed, powered, and connected.
