When a guest walks up to your machine, they do not need a special app and you do not need to explain a long checkout flow. They open the ArcadePay payment page, pick how they want to pay, and the credits go on the machine.
Here is exactly what they can use — and what the sticker does versus what happens on the payment page.
Step One: Open the Payment Page
Every play starts the same way: the guest opens your machine's payment page on their phone. They can do that two ways:
- Scan the QR with their phone camera.
- Tap their phone on the TAP YOUR PHONE HERE area of an NFC sticker — the page opens automatically. No app download.
Both paths land on the same checkout screen. Physical credit or debit cards do not tap directly on the sticker. That is phone tap (or QR scan) first, then pay on the page.
What Guests Can Pay With
Once the payment page is open, guests can choose any of these:
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay
- Credit or debit card (typed in or chosen from a saved card)
- PayPal
- Venmo
- Amazon Pay
For guests who already have Apple Pay or Google Pay set up, the flow is quick: open the page → confirm with Face ID, fingerprint, or a tap → play. No account to create on your side.
How to Explain It in One Sentence
If a location manager or guest asks, keep it short: "Scan the QR or tap your phone on the sticker, then pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, card, PayPal, Venmo, or Amazon Pay." That covers the open step and the pay step without mixing them up.
You do not need extra signage. The ArcadePay sticker already shows the tap zone, the QR, and the major payment logos.
Confirm the Page Before You Walk Away
After you install or move a controller, open the payment page yourself from the dashboard QR icon or by scanning the sticker. You should see your pricing and those payment options. Only then apply or leave the stickers in place for guests.
Full first-install checks are on Verify Your Controller Is Online and Test the Payment Page.
The Takeaway
ArcadePay is phone-first: guests open the payment page with a QR scan or a phone NFC tap, then pay with wallets, cards, PayPal, Venmo, or Amazon Pay — no app required. Teach that two-step story once and most guest questions go away. For sticker install details, see How to Set Up Tap to Pay.
