How to Get NFC Stickers for Your ArcadePay Controller

ArcadePay stickers now include an NFC chip. When a customer holds their phone near the sticker, the payment page opens automatically — no need to scan a QR code. It works with any NFC-enabled iPhone or Android phone.

Already have ArcadePay Controllers? The NFC update is a sticker-only upgrade for existing units — no new reader or ACPAYX hardware. When yours arrive, match kit numbers, keep it off metal, including metal under a decal or wrap (glass is fine), center it under TAP YOUR PHONE HERE, and phone-test before you leave.

All new ArcadePay Controllers ship with the updated NFC sticker set included. No additional action is needed — just apply the sticker to your machine after installation.

Existing Customers

This is a sticker upgrade for operators who already have ArcadePay Controllers — not new ACPAYX hardware.

Free replacement stickers for existing units are available to order now at arcadepay.app/products/nfc-tap-to-pay-stickers and ship later this week. The free replacement is a one-time offer.

No additional hardware is needed. The NFC sticker upgrade works with your existing ArcadePay Controller — no new device or adapter required. It is purely a sticker swap.

NFC Tag Placement

Stickers cannot go on metal, including metal with a decal or vinyl wrap over it; glass is fine.

How NFC Tap-to-Pay Works

When the NFC sticker is applied to your machine:

  • A customer holds their phone near the sticker (no app required)
  • The ArcadePay payment page opens automatically in their browser
  • They can pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, credit or debit card, PayPal, Venmo, or Amazon Pay
  • Once the payment is confirmed, credits are added to the machine
The QR code on the sticker still works for customers whose phones do not support NFC, or who prefer to scan.

How Will My Customers Know to Use Tap-to-Pay?

No extra signage is needed. The graphic sticker itself shows customers exactly what to do — it displays "TAP YOUR PHONE HERE" at the top with the accepted payment logos (Apple Pay, Google Pay, and major cards). Customers who prefer to scan can use the QR code printed on the same sticker. Both options are clearly marked, and the sticker is designed to be self-explanatory.

Can I Apply My Own NFC Sticker?

Please do not add third-party NFC tags to your machine. Only the official ArcadePay sticker is configured to open the correct payment page for your device. An unofficial tag could send customers to the wrong page or fail to open at all.
