Copy Machine Settings to Another ArcadePay Controller

Copy Machine Settings to Another ArcadePay Controller

If you run several machines with the same price structure, you do not need to rebuild every ArcadePay Controller from scratch. The dashboard includes a Copy Config tool that copies a working setup from one machine to another.

Use this when two or more machines should behave the same way: same play price, same pulses per play, same promo packages, and the same type of ArcadePay installation. Set up one machine carefully, test it, then copy that setup to the rest.

What Copy Config Copies

Copy Config copies the machine settings that control customer checkout and machine credits. In normal use, that includes:

  • Products and prices shown to customers
  • Pulse settings
  • Product-to-pulse counts
  • Currency
  • Transaction fees, if those were added

For example, if one machine is set up with 2 Plays for $2, 3 Plays for $3, and 6 Plays - 1 FREE Play for $5, you can copy that setup to another similar machine instead of rebuilding each product manually.

Before You Copy

Start with the machine that is already working correctly. This is your source machine.

Before copying, open the source machine and confirm:

  1. The machine name or location is the one you intended to use.
  2. The Products & Pricing tab shows the correct customer-facing offers.
  3. The Pulse Settings match the actual machine type.
Check the machine record before copying settings.

Copy Config saves time by duplicating settings exactly. If the source machine is wrong, the mistake gets copied too.

How to Copy a Configuration

  1. Open the dashboard.
  2. Go to the Machines page.
  3. Find the machine that already has the correct setup.
  4. Click Copy Config.
  5. Choose the source machine if prompted.
  6. Select the target machine or machines that should receive the same setup.
  7. Preview the changes if a preview is shown.
  8. Confirm the copy.

After the copy finishes, open one of the target machines and check Products & Pricing. The products, prices, and pulse counts should match the source machine.

When To Use It

Copy Config is useful when you are setting up several similar machines, replacing a controller, or adding new ArcadePay Controllers to an existing location.

Good examples:

  • Several claw machines all priced the same way
  • A replacement controller for a machine that already had the correct setup
  • A new batch of machines using the same play packages
  • A route where every machine should show the same customer checkout options

When To Be Careful

Do not blindly copy settings between machines that are wired or priced differently.

Be careful when:

  • One machine uses quarters and another uses tokens
  • One machine has a bill reader and another does not
  • One machine uses a prize sensor or locker box input and another does not
  • One machine should have different play packages or pricing
  • The target machine is a different model or installation type

Copy Config is powerful because it is fast. Use it intentionally.

Quick Check After Copying

After copying settings:

  • Open the target machine.
  • Confirm Products & Pricing looks right.
  • Confirm the customer preview shows the right offers.
  • Confirm the pulse count matches the machine's credit behavior.
  • Run a small test payment or test play before leaving the machine on location.

If a machine accepts payment but does not credit correctly, check the pulse count first. A common setup issue is having the price correct but the pulses per play wrong. Copy Config helps prevent that once you have one known-good machine to copy from.

Bottom Line

Set up one machine correctly, test it, and then use Copy Config to duplicate that setup across similar machines. It is one of the fastest ways to keep ArcadePay Controllers consistent across a location or route.

If you are not sure whether two machines should share the same configuration, send ArcadePay the machine names and what each machine should cost per play. We can help confirm the setup before you copy it.
