How to Temporarily Stop a Machine from Accepting Electronic Payments

If a machine is having an issue and you need to take it out of service for card and digital payments while you investigate, you have two options: unplug the controller on-site, or contact support to disable it remotely.

Option 1: Unplug the Controller (On-Site)

This is the fastest method if you can physically reach the machine.

Steps

Unplug the ArcadePay Controller from the coin mechanism connector.

Here is what happens:

  • The machine keeps accepting coins exactly as it did before ArcadePay was installed.
  • The machine will not process QR code, card, or digital wallet payments until the controller is plugged back in.
  • No dashboard changes are needed.
  • No customers will see an error — the QR payment screen simply won't appear.

When You're Ready to Resume

Plug the controller back into the coin mechanism connector. Allow up to 10 minutes for it to reconnect and sync. Once the red light blinks steadily, the machine is back online and accepting electronic payments.

Option 2: Ask ArcadePay to Disable It Remotely

Can't reach the machine right now? ArcadePay can disable electronic payments on a specific machine from our end — no physical access needed.

To request a remote disable:
  1. Email ops@arcadepay.app or reply to your existing support thread.
  2. Include your machine's device ID — you can find it in the dashboard under Machines → select the machine → Settings.
  3. Let us know you want electronic payments paused and roughly when you expect to get back to the machine.
We will disable the machine's payment processing on our end. The machine will continue accepting coins normally. When you're ready to re-enable, just let us know and we'll turn it back on.

Investigating a Credits Issue

If a machine is not crediting players after a successful payment, contact ArcadePay Support at ops@arcadepay.app with:

  • The machine name or location
  • The device ID (found in your dashboard under Machines)
  • A rough time and date of the missed credit
ArcadePay can pull the transaction logs and pulse settings on our end to diagnose what happened. If a customer did not receive their credits, you may be able to issue a manual credit from the dashboard in the meantime — contact support and we can walk you through it.

Still Need Help?

Contact ArcadePay Support — include the machine name, location, and a brief description of the issue.
