ICT A6 Bill Validator — 110V AC 9-Pin Pulse Install

ICT A6 Bill Validator — 110V AC 9-Pin Pulse Install

Use this guide when your ICT A6 is the AC-line / S.T.D. Pulse version and you need the 9-pin mating connector pinout for install or ArcadePay credit-pulse tap.

Naming note: ICT installation manual labels this model 117VAC (0.2 A, 60 Hz). In the field you will also see 110V / 115V / 120V. Same pinout family — match the label on your validator and use a proper AC power harness.

When to use 110V AC (this guide)

  • Validator is the AC pulse model.
  • Harness path is WEL-M008 (validator 30-pin → 9-pin) into WEL-M010 and/or WEL-M012 (117VAC power harnesses per ICT manual).

When to use 12V DC instead

⚠️ Safety: Power the machine and validator OFF before you connect or disconnect any harness.

⚠️ Earth ground must be inside the machine on AC units (ICT caution).

⚠️ Never put line voltage on ArcadePay pulse wires. Credit path is dry-contact / low-voltage signal only.

What harness parts you need

Part Role
WEL-M008 Dual-in-line 30-pin on the validator side → 9-pin mating connector
WEL-M010 / WEL-M012 117VAC power harness options that mate to that 9-pin (ICT manual lists both)

Connect the 30-pin to the side of the A6. Mate the 9-pin to the AC power harness. Confirm earth ground is bonded inside the cabinet.

Credit pulse — how it works with ArcadePay

Same idea as the 12V unit: pins 7 (N.O.) and 8 (Common) are a dry relay. Bill stacked → brief closure → host pulse.

Credit pulse path overview

High-level path: validator credit relay → machine pulse line → ArcadePay tap

Practical install

  1. Keep AC power on pins 4 / 6 and earth on pin 5 via the ICT AC harness only.
  2. Tap credit relay 7/8 onto the machine existing coin/pulse input path.
  3. Feed that low-voltage pulse into ArcadePay (Easy Connect or hardwire → Pulse 1). ArcadePay-side wiring: ArcadePay Controller installation overview.
  4. Confirm in the ArcadePay dashboard that Pulse 1 fires for both a test bill and a cashless purchase.

Hard rule: ArcadePay pulse inputs are not an AC power splice. If you are unsure which wires are line voltage vs credit contacts, stop and meter with power off / follow the table above.

Inhibit / Enable (brief)

On the AC 9-pin:

  • Neutral Inhibit / Neutral Enable / Hot Enable implement host inhibit and enable across the AC interface.
  • Leave these on machine logic unless you are deliberately disabling acceptance.
  • For ArcadePay you normally only need a clean credit pulse tap plus correct power + earth.

DIP / pulse mode reminder

Configure pulse / S.T.D. Pulse with the manufacturer DIP / option-switch sheet for your A6 revision.

  • Do not use an invented switch table from memory — revisions differ; the ICT appendix is authoritative.
  • After changes: power-cycle, confirm ready LEDs, test one bill, then one ArcadePay play.

Troubleshooting (short list)

Symptom Check
No power / dead unit Pins 4 (HOT) and 6 (NEUTRAL); breaker / outlet; harness seating
Shock hazard / chassis hot Pin 5 Earth bonded inside the cabinet — fix before anything else
Accepts bill, no machine credit Pins 7 / 8 relay during stack; pulse path to game board
ArcadePay no credit Pulse tap on the signal pair only; Pulse 1 settings in dashboard; verify a cash bill pulse first
Validator will not enable Inhibit/Enable wiring; bill box seated; ICT LED flash codes
Intermittent AC unit Reseat WEL-M008 / power harness; inspect for heat damage on HOT/NEUTRAL pins
