ICT A6 Bill Validator — 12V DC 9-Pin Pulse Install

Use this guide when your ICT A6 is the 12V DC / S.T.D. Pulse version and you need the 9-pin mating connector pinout for install or ArcadePay credit-pulse tap.

When to use 12V DC (this guide)

  • Validator label / power requirement is 12V DC (manual: ~3 A).
  • Harness path is WEL-M007 (validator 30-pin → 9-pin) into CU-961-1 (12V DC power harness).

When to use 110V AC instead

  • Unit is the AC pulse model (ICT manual lists 117VAC; field label often says 110/115/120VAC).

⚠️ Safety: Power the machine and validator OFF before you connect or disconnect any harness. Do not hot-plug the 9-pin or 30-pin connectors.

What harness parts you need

Plug the 30-pin into the side of the A6. Mate the 9-pin to the CU-961-1 power harness. Pin-out details for WEL-M007 / CU-961-1 are also in the ICT A6 installation manual (cable / power harness pages).

Validator-side 30-pin (dual-in-line) summary

Useful if you are probing the connector on the side of the validator (WEL-M007 plugs here). Keys are physical blanks — do not force a pin into a keyed cavity.

Credit pulse — how it works with ArcadePay

The A6 credit output is a dry relay: N.O. (pin 7) and Common (pin 8). When a bill is accepted and stacked, the relay closes briefly → the host sees a pulse (same idea as a coin mech).

Practical install

  1. Keep 12V power on pins 5 / 9 via the ICT harness — do not borrow ArcadePay pulse wires for validator power.
  2. Land the credit pulse on the same pulse path the machine already uses for coins (parallel / tap).
  3. Bring that pulse into the ArcadePay Controller with Easy Connect or hardwire (Pulse 1 = credits). ArcadePay-side wiring is in the ArcadePay Controller installation overview — do not invent ICT harness colors.
  4. In the ArcadePay dashboard, confirm Pulse 1 timing matches your machine.

Inhibit / Enable (brief)

  • Inhibit (+/−) lets the host disable bill acceptance when it should not take money.
  • Enable (+/−) on the 30-pin side is the complementary enable pair on 12V units.
  • Leave these on the machine / host logic unless you are intentionally locking out the validator. For a normal ArcadePay credit tap you usually only care about power + credit relay.

DIP / pulse mode reminder

Set the validator for pulse / S.T.D. Pulse per the manufacturer option-switch / DIP sheet for your exact A6 firmware revision.

  • This guide does not invent a DIP table — switch maps vary by revision and appendix sheets.
  • Use the ICT A6 installation guide appendix / switch settings insert that shipped with the unit (or the current PDF from ICT / your distributor).
  • After DIP changes: power-cycle, confirm LEDs flash ready, then test one bill and one ArcadePay cashless play.

Troubleshooting (short list)
